Can an electric forklift designed around a lead-acid battery be converted to lithium? Sometimes, but matching the nominal voltage is only the first check. Treat a retrofit as a complete truck-and-battery compatibility review, not a battery-only purchase. Start with the forklift nameplate and manufacturer guidance: system voltage, permitted battery mass range, compartment dimensions, connector, maximum discharge current, controller limits and any approved battery chemistry.
